Traffic Changes

Message from the Developer:

Signs will be placed on the intersections of San Marcos Dr. and Las Vegas Dr. that state “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop” / “Trafico Cruzado No Se Detiene”.

This means that San Marcos Dr. and Las Vegas Dr. will now travel north and south without any stops, throughout all communities. Traffic is still required to travel 25 mph because these roads are still considered private roads and neighborhood roads.

The speed limit signs have been ordered and will be installed at a later date. Please be mindful of the 25 mph speed limit and watch out for children in our community.


Community Announcement – 2nd Full-time Patrol Officer Hired

We are pleased to announce that our communities now have TWO full-time patrol officers. Deputy Oscar Martinez is our new, full-time patrol officer working with Deputy Ivan Gonzalez. If you attended the Neighborhood Watch meeting in October, you were able to meet Deputy Oscar Martinez. Houston El Norte POA Board of Directors voted to add the second patrol officer. Our Board of Directors consists of John Harris, Olga Summers, Deyanira Palacios, Silvia Aguilar, Robin Lane, Tedra Ortega and Trey Harris.

Until Deputy Oscar Martinez could begin on October 25th, we had 40 hours of extra patrol completed throughout a ten (10) day period in order to address daytime robbery issues that have occurred.

Crime Prevention: If you are interested in joining the Neighborhood Watch Committee for your Neighborhood, our next quarterly meetings will be:

TIPS: If you were burglarized and do not file charges against the person who robbed you, there is a big chance this person who burglarized you will do the same to other neighbors. A robber was caught by patrol officers on duty but no charges were filed by the victim. As people are moving into a new community and acting as their own builder, constructions materials and tools should not be left in the open or unattended. Protect your investment. Lock and secure your home, belongings and cars. Purchase a hunting camera (<$60.00 on Amazon). For Security Systems that require internet, AT&T is still working in part of Grand San Jacinto and Camino Real. AT&T was unresponsive for some time and has not replied with a completion date. Cleveland ISD Bus Stops

The developers met with Mr. Hoagland with CISD Transportation Department this afternoon. Cleveland ISD will no longer be going to one stop. Thank you to all who participated in the board meeting and online petition. Your voices were heard. These routes may not be perfect but this is much better than one, single stop. There is still a shortage of bus drivers. Mr. Hoagland provided us with new bus stops and routes to start October 2nd, see attachment.

CISD will be mailing out notices to all the parents/students within the subdivision so that all parents are notified by September 25th, one week before the change takes place.

The 2017 Annual Meeting of Houston El Norte Property Owner’s Association, Inc. is scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th beginning at 6:00 PM at Show Barn, Located in A.V. ‘Bull’ Sallas Park, 21675-C McCleskey Road New Caney, TX 77357. The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Seven (7) positions on the Board of Directors will be filled in this election. We hope you are able to attend the Annual meeting. If not, you can vote by proxy on the enclosed proxy form. All owners of record are entitled to one vote per property. Return the proxy before May 8, 2017 so that your vote may be counted.

If you wish to make a nomination or have your name placed into nomination for the positions available on the Board of Directors, please send a brief resume to CH&P Management so that your name or nominee’s name may be added to the ballot. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the meeting. Those nominated from the floor must be present or provide a letter stating their approval and desire to serve as a Director of the Association.

Should you have any questions or comments for discussion at the meeting, they should be submitted in writing to CH&P Management no later than May 8, 2017. There will be limited time for owner’s to speak, so questions or comments must be submitted in advance. All questions will be addressed after the official meeting has adjourned during the time allotted. This process will be used to conduct an orderly and informative meeting.

Welcome to Houston El Norte Property Owner’s Association website. A property owner’s association is established to help the community by protecting common property, members, and overall property value. All property owners are automatically a member, since membership is mandatory and automatic for all property owners in the subdivision. Members are able to volunteer and serve on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are in charge of voting and making decisions for the betterment of the community. Contact the Association office to learn more about how you can be involved in helping better your community. Governing Documents filed in the County Property Records bind the property owner and the association to each other through mandated actions. Mandatory assessments are charged once per year in order to operate and maintain the community association and common property. Our goal as an Association is to help the community by providing general maintenance of the common areas and protecting overall property value.
